The Journey Inward That Leads to Divine Connection

Through this path of life, I've discovered that divine connection begins not with others, but with ourselves. The relationship we nurture internally creates the foundation for authentic external connections that truly matter.
The Inner Work Creates Outer Magnetism
The spark of divine connection began during one of life's darkest moments. After experiencing profound loss, I found myself running away from home—traveling across states, hiking in parks, meeting strangers. The illusion shattered in a Tennessee laundromat when a friend texted: "I wish I had the life you did." A panic attack set in and I was certain my life was going to be over within minutes.
This breaking point led me to therapy and, ultimately, meditation nearly 8 years ago. I discovered what I was running from there was never going to be an escape. And that building the connection within myself, was the path I was now on. Through consistent meditation, mindfulness, physical training, and intentional nutrition, I've cultivated a self-relationship that feels truly sacred—one that naturally radiates outward, attracting others who resonate at a similar frequency.
Trust Creates Transformative Experiences
This inner work prepared me for meaningful connections beyond myself. Years ago, I followed a quiet intuition to attend one of Leo Babauta's retreats. Despite knowing no one, I trusted that the universe was guiding me toward something meaningful. That leap of faith led to one of life's most profound experiences—connecting with strangers who quickly became family, each from different backgrounds yet united by a shared commitment to growth.
These bonds weren't created through networking strategies or business tactics—they emerged organically from showing up authentically and remaining open to divine orchestration.
To this day, many of us still reunite periodically, the connection remaining strong despite time and distance.
Heart-Centered Business Attracts Heart-Centered Community
4.5 years ago began my altered path of sobriety, which dramatically deepened my capacity for self-connection by shifting the frequency knob to find the clearest signal. This transformation extended into my professional life as well.
What I've learned is that divine connection in business isn't something we chase; it's something we allow. When we operate from our hearts rather than fear, we naturally attract the people, opportunities, and experiences that align with our highest purpose.
Most recently, my connections within the Sacred Growth Club have introduced me to fellow entrepreneurs who approach business with the same heart-centered values. These relationships don't feel transactional or strategic—they feel natural and aligned.
I've found this especially true in creating these meaningful connections—the depth of relationships we can form with clients, collaborators, and community members directly reflects the depth of connection we've established with ourselves.
A Practice for Divine Connection
If there's one practice I can share for cultivating divine connection in your business and life, it's this: create intentional space for stillness every day.
When challenges arise, our instinct is often to distract ourselves—to keep busy, to overthink, or in my previous life, to crack open a beer. But true connection emerges from the opposite approach.
Commit to just 15 minutes of meditation daily. Sit with yourself without judgment, without planning, without doing. Simply be present. Notice the sensations in your body, observe your thoughts without attachment, and gradually strengthen that internal relationship.
This practice doesn't just cultivate self-awareness—it creates the fertile ground from which authentic connections with others naturally grow. From this centered place, you'll find yourself attracting aligned clients, collaborators, and community members without forcing or manipulating outcomes.
Divine connection isn't a business strategy. It's the natural result of doing the inner work that allows you to show up as your most authentic self, trust the process, and remain open to the beautiful orchestration of relationships that are meant to be part of your journey.
